They went a day earlier for the Superlicence drivers' strike: 28 drivers got banned for life before Friday qualifying had even got underway at the 1982 season-opener at Kyalami. (Bernie Ecclestone went as far as to sack Piquet and Patrese from Brabham for breach of contract.) They were all reinstated in time for qualifying on Saturday, but I think that's probably the earliest ever: noon on Friday at the first race of the year.

As a matter of fact, Hamilton has a 5 place grid penalty already. Last year Timo Glock got a 10 place grid penalty in Australia. The earliest penalty is a record that can only be tied with!
The Toyota news seems to be interesting.

Probobaly not. Mclaren had illegal spoilers on during the Jerez testing a few weeks ago. Still Jenson Button is pole for tomorrow. We may have a british champion again, but this time, its not going to be Lewis Hamilton. Seriously, the Brawn GP cars are like some sort or miracle. Two weeks ago they barely existed, yet here they are easily taking the first two places on the grid in their debut race. I never in my life would of imagined Button could get even a pole position with his crap team, but he has with his new 'dream team' and i reackon its going to be a brilliant season :) But i was expecting much mroe form Reubens, since he is the veteran this season, he should have most experince, but we shall see tomorrow. Im pretty suprised that the ferraris did pretty crap too. Even their superior engine couldn't make up for the mistakes that both them and Mclaren have made, and i think they only got a good position because they have very good engines, but they too have made serious mistakes this season. I think this may be the end for Raikkonens stint with ferrari if he doesn't get his ar*e into gear and do better in qualifying and racing, they may even do the same to Massa as well if he doesn't improve, he is getting on a bit (he is 27, i thought he was only 25, and Raikkonen is 29, so its possible that they may drop both)
Exciting isn't it :)))))

Possibly. Hamilton got a 5-place penalty as well for cha nging his gearbox. Toyota will be making changes to their car and hopefully be able to race. The race hasn't even started yet and things are getting exciting already

No its not I can't remember when the earliest one was but I know it is the earliest. As for Hamilton tomorrow if i was him I would not bother racing. It would kill him bu think about it it saves the motor having to do a race and then its only one that has to complete 3 races.

It's a shame that they have been penalised, but at least they are allowed to race :)
i dont know if they will be changing the parts for tomorrow?
but i wouldnt be suprised if penalties are to follow for Brawn GP and Williams in this case, but i hope beyond anything they don't!!!!
Well done Button + Barrichello! :D

Just seen it. So they are at the back of the grid then ?
Apparently, they are not contesting either.

Why do I need the "details" when I have my own two eyes and enough attention span to see it on TV for myself?
