Ron Dennis is not stupid...Mika's return?

Question

I think Mika's first day in testing went well. If I were Ron, and the other engineers, I would have given Mika a car with scaled back power for him to get used to being in a F1 car again...he already was in the simulator earlier, and if he could not deliver the goods there, Ron probably would not let him behind the wheel.

Of course Ron Dennis isn't stupid, but, what is your question and why did Mika take part in a one-day test?

True, he posted the slowest time of the day (1:19.336), but I don't think Mika needs a car `with scaled back power for him to get used to being in a F1 car again...'

According to Ron, it was a one-off test and no more are planned; perhaps we'll eventually find out the purpose of those 79 laps the Finn completed.

Hey bud, you're a little misguided on this Mika thing. They've got drivers signed, one of them is the current world champ. There is no room at the inn. He's not coming back to F1 as a driver. Maybe as some kind of advisor.

I think that Mika will return to McLaren if he is not offered a drive in DTM next year, but not as a tester. Hakkinen is a pure-bred racer, I don't think he can settle for a testing seat; he said that he might prefer a more advisory role within the team, especially for the younger drivers in the team, drivers like Hamilton.

As a fairly new fan to F1 (since 2003), I would have loved to see Mika race! But I don't see him coming back as a driver to F1.

No he won`t be a driver again as they have Hamilton and Fernando signed on. I think eventually it will be Schumacher vs Mika on the pit wall some day
